Dear Reader,
There’s something important about the waxing moon phase that most people misunderstand.
It’s not just about action.
It’s not just “go after your goals.”
It’s not endless motivation and forward momentum.
The waxing moon — especially the first quarter moon — often brings friction.
Because this is the phase where movement meets resistance.
Where the part of you that wants growth… meets the part of you that still feels afraid.
And honestly?
That’s what I’ve been reflecting on lately.
I say I want movement.
I say I want change.
I say I want a stronger body.
And mentally, I do.
But I’ve had to become honest about something deeper: part of me still doesn’t feel safe.
Not because I’m lazy.
Not because I’m failing.
But because the body remembers.
The pain.
The fear.
The exhaustion.
The survival patterns.
And maybe that’s why this phase matters so much right now.
The waxing moon asks us to move… but not by abandoning ourselves in the process.
It asks:
- What resistance is trying to teach you?
- What are you still carrying?
- What no longer fits?
- What are you refusing to put down?
- And what might your body still be protecting you from?
This week’s blog is one of the most honest things I’ve written in a while.
Because balance isn’t always calm.
Sometimes balance looks like truth.
Sometimes it looks like awareness.
Sometimes it looks like finally admitting:

Balance Isn't Calm
We all want balance. We know life can’t be all work and no play. We talk about balance like it’s the goal...

And as you move through this waxing phase, remember: growth isn’t always about forcing yourself harder.
Sometimes growth begins the moment you stop fighting what your body has been trying to tell you.
